Directing

I’ve been directing festival shows since 2008. I started in theatre before moving into stand-up and one person shows. Since then I’ve been in high demand.

Every director approaches collaborating with performers differently. I love to be the person in your corner, helping you make the show you want to make. Each creator I work with has different needs and it’s always exciting to see how I can help them whether it’s in structure, punching up jokes, finding themes, highlighting story, or all of the above.

If you’re interested to know more about how I approach directing a show, you might find this episode of my podcast helpful where you can listen in on my first session with Stephanie Hare.

I’ve been lucky to work with so many talented folks on their shows. I’ve worked with Ting Lim, Fiona Cox, Sparrow-Folk, Katie Eyles, Beth McMullen, Oliver Hunter, Stephanie Hare, Freddie Arthur, Ainslie Rose, Claire Robin, and Maryellen George. I’ve directed two shows with Steph Broadbridge and three with Lizzy Hoo.

The first one-person show I directed was Nann-stasia for the Sydney Fringe. We won two awards: The NIDA Award for Best Writing and the Perth Tour Ready Award.

If you’re looking for a director for your next show, get in touch to see if we might be the right fit for each other.

Highlights:

  • Multiple awards for Nanna-stasia and a ton of great reviews.

  • Best Newcomer Nominee for Steph Broadbridge’s Hot Chick/Tired Mum.

  • Maryellen George’s Call Me Me touring to the Edinburgh Fringe.

  • Lizzy Hoo: Hoo Cares on Amazon Prime.
