Hello!
About Me
I’m a comedian, improviser, director, and teacher.
I do a lot of things but fortunately they all complement one another.
Comedian
I perform around the country. I’ve MC’d all the best comedy rooms around Australia.
Improviser
I love to make stuff up on the spot. Since 2018 I’ve been performing alongside my wife in our improv troupe The Newlyweds.
Director
I have been directing theatre since 2008. Since 2019 I’ve been moving into stand-up and one-person shows collaborating with folks like Lizzy Hoo and Steph Broadbridge.
Teacher
I teach drama, stand-up, and improv, as well as specialty corporate workshops in presenting and storytelling.
The Comedy Writers Group
I also run an online community for comedians called The Comedy Writers Group. We meet up regularly to workshop jokes. There’s also a companion podcast.
STAND-UP
I’ve been performing stand-up since 2012. I started in in Adelaide before moving to Sydney in 2014.
I’ve performed in every capital city in Australia. Internationally, I’ve performed in the US, UK, and NZ.
I love festivals. I’ve produced work for the Adelaide Fringe every year between 2008 and 2020 including six solo shows. I’ve performed at the Sydney Fringe, Bondi Festival, Melbourne Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, and Perth Fringe.
I’m an in-demand MC. I’ve hosted the best comedy rooms in the country like Comedy Republic, The Rhino Room, Good Chat, and The Comedy Store.
I’ve performed alongside legends like Dr Karl, Clare Hooper, Nikki Britton, and Rhys Nicholson. In 2024 I was handpicked for the MICF Roadshow which saw me MCing theatres across Queensland with some of the best comedians from the comedy festival.
DIRECTING
I’ve been directing festival shows since 2008. I started in theatre before moving into stand-up and one person shows. Since then I’ve been in high demand.
If you’re looking for a director for your next show, get in touch to see if we might be the right fit for each other.
Highlights:
- Multiple awards for Nanna-stasia and a ton of great reviews.
- Best Newcomer Nominee for Steph Broadbridge’s Hot Chick/Tired Mum.
- Maryellen George’s Call Me Me touring to the Edinburgh Fringe.
- Lizzy Hoo: Hoo Cares on Amazon Prime.
IMPROVISER
I’ve been doing longform improv since 2016. I’ve been lucky enough to perform alongside excellent people like Tom Cardy, Alex Lee, Susie Youssef, and the brilliant ensemble at Improv Theatre Sydney. I’ve studied at iO Chicago and invited to perform at the New Zealand Improv Festival, the Brisbane Improv Festival, and the Auckland Improv Festival.
I run specialty and custom improv workshops for groups and corporates.
You can find me performing alongside my wife in our improv duo, The Newlyweds.
“Two-prov is one of the hardest comedy structures to survive and The Newlyweds smash it into an effortless masterclass. Quickwitted, loveable and despicably funny. I love them.”
- Sharnema Nougar (Two Little Dickheads)
TEACHER
I teach people to be more confident on stage and to become better storytellers.
Whether it’s in stand-up, public speaking, or improvisation, my main focus is get my students to become the best they can at getting the response they want from their audience.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (English & Drama) and a Bachelor of Education.
I’m available for one-on-one coaching. We can workshop jokes, generate material, develop your persona, navigate creating a show, all sorts of things.

THE COMEDY WRITERS GROUP
The Comedy Writers Group is a community of comedians who meet regularly online to share and workshop jokes.
I started this community on Patreon because people were looking for a place to connect and grow.
Guest mentors like Cameron James, Alice Fraser, Dane Simpson, Bron Lewis, and Tommy Dean, help support the comics to find their best work.
There's also a podcast featuring guests like Lizzy Hoo, Jess Perkins, and Nikki Britton, where listeners can submit their jokes to be workshopped on the show.
